Dorothy Hollinger Ottinger, 96, of Duluth, died December 26, 2014, at the Lighthouse of Superior assisted living facility in Superior, Wisconsin.
Dorothy was born October 12, 1918, in Duluth to Edward H. and Mary Hollinger. She grew up in Duluth and graduated from Central High School in 1936. In 1939, Dorothy married Clarence Lincoln Ottinger. They were life-long members of the First United Methodist Church where Dorothy was an active member of the Wesleyan Circle. Dorothy was particularly proud of the flower gardens she and Clarence planted and tended in front of the church soon after it was built.
Dorothy was part owner and editor of the Financial Record of St. Louis County from 1984 until her retirement in 1997 at the age of 78.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clarence; brother, Wallace Hollinger; and sister, Donna Kroschel. She is survived by her brother, Robert J. Hollinger (Joanne); son, Paul R. Ottinger (Mary Jo); daughter, Mary Ann Ottinger; and six grandchildren.
