Dorothy M. Royer, 90, formerly of Hermantown, died Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Franciscan Health Center, with her son by her side. Dorothy was born October 27, 1926 in Duluth to Edward and Catherine Borske. She graduated from Duluth Denfeld High School. Dorothy met Lloyd Royer and they were married on November 29, 1947 at St. Jean’s Church.
Dorothy worked as a clerk for Piggly Wiggly and she also worked for the Hermantown school District for 13 years.
She was a former member of St. Raphael’s Church, the Duluth Curling Club and the All American Club, but most of all, her family was the most important thing in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Catherine; siblings, Richard and Jim Borske and Carolyn Caskey.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Pat (Rachel) Royer and their daughter, Kendra; sisters, Arlene Erickson and Marlene (Bob) Peterson and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will begin Tuesday at 12 noon with services at 1pm in the Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd St. Duluth, MN, (218) 727-3555.
