Douglas Allan Falconer, 92, of Duluth, passed away Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.Douglas was born March 27, 1920, in Duluth, to John Gordon and Ella Rose (Dugan) Falconer. He grew up in Duluth and Florida, graduating from Miami High School and later Duluth Business University.Doug was a World War II Veteran and retired Federal Revenue agent who enjoyed boating, fishing, curling and spending time on Isle Royal and in Florida.He was a member of Chester Park United Methodist Church, Duluth Curling Club, Elks Lodge, Isle Royal Boaters Association, and worked with the White Dove Foundation in Florida. He enjoyed working Thursday mornings with the Dock Worker Volunteers and de la Bahia in Stewart, Fla.He was preceded in death by his son, Dwane; sister Amy; brother Gordy; mother Ella; and father Gordon. Friends and family will fondly remember Dougs great sense of humor and love of life.Douglas is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanne; daughters Judy (Robert) Shykes of Duluth and Janet Falconer of Two Harbors; daughter-in-law Susan Falconer of Duluth; grandchildren Zeke (Bonnie Lou) Goebel of Duluth, Toni (Troy) Lurz of Torrington, Wyo., Kelly (Ryan) Sweeney of Duluth, Cyndi (Rick) Hartman of Duluth, Paul Falconer of Duluth, Charla (Joe Zieglar) Falconer of Denver, Colo., and Andrea (Jason Grimm) Halligan of Duluth; great-grandchildren Seth Shykes, and Zachary, McKennan, Alexandra and Daulton Lurz; and special friend Jay Haynes.VISITATION: 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday, April 26, in Chester Park United Methodist Church, 819 N. 18th Ave. E., Duluth. A luncheon will immediately follow the service.Military Honors by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard.
