Drexel Harold Bodin, 85, of Duluth, MN, passed away peacefully on June 13th, 2024.
Born November 5th, 1938, to Harold and Grace (Melstrand) Bodin in Duluth, Drexel graduated from Duluth Denfeld. After high school, Drexel enlisted in the Army National Guard while going to school at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where he graduated with his degree in chemistry.
Drexel spent much of his work career working for the City of Duluth Water and Gas Department as an engineer. He was a member of Mensa International for 10 years and enjoyed hobbies such as history, reading, music, fishing, and camping. He was a kind, gentle, smart, funny, and generous man, who invested what he could of himself in his daughters. Drexel loved his whole family, God, and his country.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother’s Dennis Bodin, of St. Paul, MN, and Dixon Bodin, of Cloquet, MN.
Drexel is survived by his daughters, Denise (Matthew) Arneson, of Philips, WI, Diane (Earl) Link-Morley, of Las Vegas, NV, and Debra Bodin-Bushey, of Duluth, MN; grandson, Graham Arneson; and sister, Virginia Loffelmacher, of Minneapolis, MN.
The family would like to thank McCarthy Manor for all the years of care and service the staff and residents provided, along with the Franciscan Health Center and St. Luke’s Hospice for end-of-life care. He was very much loved and will be missed.
Graveside service to be held on Wednesday, July 17th at 1:00 PM at Park Hill Cemetery in Duluth, MN. A small private reception will follow.
