Dr. Frank Lynn Wolf, 82, of Duluth, died Tuesday April 27, 2021 in Essentia Health, St. Mary’s Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on May 14, 1938 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin to Rev. Frank and Mary Wolf. Frank attended North Central College and The University of Wisconsin-Madison medical school. Frank was a Vietnam veteran who served as a surgeon in the 7th surgical hospital. His work in the MASH unit put him on the path to become a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. Frank had his own private practice and was the head of the Miller-Dwan Burn Unit and Wound Clinic. Frank had a passion for his work and touched many lives. He was an avid traveler to Montana, The Bahamas and Europe, especially Portugal . He loved to discover agates by the shores of Lake Superior, hunt, fish and work on projects in his garage. He enjoyed road trips with his sidekick Ted (his T-cup Yorkie). He was very proud of his garden and remained very busy with his many interests until his unexpected passing. Frank was a kind and generous father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Jennifer. Frank is survived by his children Inger (Patrick), Ryan (Sarah), and Aaron (Karri), grandchildren Muriah, Madison, Danika, Ben, Georgia, Riley and Jake, great-grandchildren Peyton and Brennan, sisters Mary Jane, Kathie, and Dorothy, his faithful companion Ted the T-cup Yorkie, Moose the cat, and his closest friends.
Visitation will be held in Dougherty Funeral Home on Thursday May 6, 2021 from 5PM to 7PM. Private Family Graveside Services will be held on Friday May 7, 2021 in Oneota Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home.600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805
