Edith Mainerich

Edith Marie "Ede" Mainerich 98,formerly of Hibbing died Sunday, October 19, 2014 in her home at Heritage Haven. Ede was born November 4, 1915 in Hibbing to John and Theresa Nigra. She graduated from Hibbing High School. She married George Mainerich in Hibbing on April 19, 1941. She was a member of Immaculate Conception in Hibbing and St. Benedict's in Duluth. She also was a member of the Italian American Club, the Elk's Club and enjoyed making ceramics. Ede was an avid Minnesota sports fan and a election judge in Hibbing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Theresa; siblings, Bert, Ernie, Adolph, Emma and Esther; husband, George in 1986 and a daughter, Georgia in 1950.
Ede is survived by her daughters, Linda (Dale) Caldwell of Eden Prairie, MN and Judy (Bill) Schaefer of Duluth; grandchildren, Kimberly (Mike) Caldwell Frye, Cassie (Craig) Schaefer Berg, Christopher Caldwell and Vincent (Carleigh) Schaefer; great grandchildren, Trenton Frye, McKeely Berg, Kellan Frye and Corbin Berg.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7pm with a Rosary recitation at 6pm in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10am to the 11am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Benedict's Church 1419 St. Benedict St. Duluth, MN 55811. Burial in Hibbing will be 2:45pm at Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
