Edward Slonim

Edward E. Slonim, 93, of Duluth, passed away on Thursday October 23, 2014 in Benedictine Health Center. He was born in Duluth on June 18, 1921 to Sigmund and Lena Slonim. Ed attended Duluth Central High School. He was a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran. Ed was a Salesman for Gateway Distributing Co. and Martin Leather Co.. He was a member of Temple Israel, Masonic lodge, Scottish Rite, the Aad Temple Shrine, Lake Avenue Loafers, Board member of the Shalom Home, and the Minnesota Men's Apparel Club.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Ruth Slonim, and sister-in-law Alicia (Babe) Witten.
Ed is survived by his wife of 68 years Dorothy, sons Alan, Marc, Lynn (Camille), and John (June), grandchildren Curt (Kelli), Adam, Reid, Aaron, Joshua (Katie), and Jessica, great-grandchildren Sawyer, Cooper and Endsley.
Funeral Services will be held Monday October 27, 2014 at 11AM in Temple Israel, 1602 E 2nd St, Duluth, MN 55812. Burial will be in Temple Emmanuel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Sigmund & Lena Slonim Scholarship Fund at UMD.
