Elaine Hanger

Elaine Mallory Hanger, 91, of Duluth, died Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Viewcrest Health and Rehabilition Center.  She was born in Duluth August 14, 1926 to George and Helen (Dibble) Mallory.  Elaine was a graduate of Clover Valley High School.  She worked as an auditor for the 711 stores, and  as a waitress at many restaurants.  She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd where she served on the alter guild and as an usher.  She also had taught Sunday School at Lakeside Presbyterian church.  She was a member of the former Lakeside Chapter OES, and currently a member of Two Harbors Emera Chapter OES.  Elaine was also a former Grand Warder for the state in 1990.  Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Ron Hanger, Sr.; her brothers Stanley and Howard Mallory; her sisters Barbara Waldron and Susan Coolidge.  Elaine is survived by her daughter Maxine Haus of Two Harbors; her sons Doug (Linda) Freeman of Island Lake, John (Margaret) Freeman of Hermantown and Ron (Patti) Hanger of Duluth; her sisters Dale (Roy) Waldron of Virginia, Minn, Karen Mahaffey of Blaine, Minn, Ruth (Rick) Whitcomb of Rogers, Minn and Margaret Hokenson of Two Harbors;  10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren;  9 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Elaine's family thanks Viewcrest Health Care for their exceptional care of their mother. Visitation: Monday, February 12, 2018 from 10 AM until the 11 AM Memorial Service at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1325 N 45th Ave., E, Duluth.
