Elaine Kuettel

Elaine Cecelia Kuettel, 85, of Duluth, died February 16, 2014 at Solvay Hospice House with her family by her side. She was born in Duluth, MN on March 18, 1928, and graduated from Duluth Cathedral and Hursh Business College.
She worked at Northern Drug. She loved her family very much and enjoyed being with them at parties, fishing etc. Elaine also enjoyed playing bridge at Rainbow Senior Center, Portman Senior Center, good music, the outdoors, and loved to read books. She also spent many hours playing poker and cribbage on fishing trips with sons and grandsons.
Elaine was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother who loved being with family and friends. She will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched. She tried to live a good daily life for the heavenly family and was an independent believer. She will be missed dearly by everyone whose lives she touched.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Amos (Alice) Buckey, step father, Jerry Luhm, brother, Amy and sister, LeVerle.
She is survived by her children, Charles Kuettel (Dawn Eisenach), William Kuettel, Michelle Halsten, Donna Sue Kuettel (Chuck Rogers), Thomas (Fay) Kuettel, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sister, Geraldine (Jake) Jacobson; brother, Russell (Judy) Luhm; daughter-in-law, Joan; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and all of her friends.
In leau of flowers, memorials preferred to, Solvay Hospice House.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 20, 2014, from 5-7 PM, visitation will continue from 10AM until the start of the service at 11AM, Friday, at the Dougherty Funeral Home.
