Eleanor Klang

Eleanor Ann Preiner Klang, age 97, died peacefully on September 5, 2016 in Duluth, MN. She was born on February 23, 1919 in St. Paul, MN. She married Kurt August Klang in 1940. Eleanor worked for over 40 years for the Cathedral of Our Lady. She was a wonderful mother and an inspiration to many.

Eleanor was preceded in death by; her husband Kurt and their beloved daughter Kathleen, parents Anthony Joseph and Rose Elizabeth (Muellner), sister Irene Preiner Walsh, brothers Gerald and Clarence, (his wife Virgil and second wife Eunice), son-in-law George Olesiak.

She is survived by her brother Eugene and sister Mildred. Her children, Rita M. Klang, Gerraldine A. Olesiak, Donna R. Klang-Elliott, (Sherwood), Phillip A. Klang, (Elizabeth), Richard T. Klang, (Joanne), Patricia M. K'Burg, (William) and son-in-law Kent Cominick. 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.  The family would like to thank the Chris Jenson Health and Rehabilitation Center staff for their compassionate and loving care of our Mother. The entire team treated our Mom with love and respect. We will be forever grateful.

Visitation will be held on Saturday September 10, 2016 from 10AM until the 11Am Mass of Christian Burial in St. John’s Catholic Church 4230 St. John’s Ave. Duluth, MN 55803.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home 600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805.  218-727-3555.
