Eli Mirkovich

Eli Mirkovich, 90, lifelong resident of Gary New Duluth died on Saturday August 4, 2018 in Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center.  He was born in Duluth on January 21, 1928 to Steve and Mary Mirkovich.  Eli graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1947 and was a U.S. Army Veteran.  He had worked many years in construction for Mierhoff Construction.  Eli was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church the men’s club at St. George and was a supporting member of the choir at St. George.  The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at River Hill Assisted Living, Chris Jensen Nursing Health & Rehabilitation Center, and St. Luke’s Hospice for the kind and compassionate care that Eli received.

Eli was preceded in death by his parents, wife Martha, brother Mike, sisters Mildred and Ann.

Eli is survived by sisters Donna Olson, Helen Hinks, and Bess Morrison, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday August 11, 2018 from 10AM until the 11AM Funeral Service    in St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 1216 104th Ave. West, Duluth, MN 55808 from 10AM until the 11AM Funeral Service.  Burial will be in Oneota Cemetery.  Military honors will be Accorded by the Duluth Honor Guard.  In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Eli’s name.   Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home.   600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805.  218-727-3555.
