Elinor Schweiger

Elinor Beth Haugen Schweiger, 81, of Old Vermilion Trail,  died September 24, 2017. Elinor was born on Sept 20, 1936 to Sidney and Ella Haugen in Duluth. Elinor married Burt J. Schweiger on September 29, 1955.

Elinor loved life, her family, old friends, the cabin, nature and her home on the Old Vermilion Trail. She was actively involved in their old campground while raising five children and later in the Old Vermilion Trail Shooting Preserve.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Karen. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Burt; children, Burt, John, Brian, Diane (Sam) Tumminello and Chris; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, MaryRae (Tom) Annear; a sister-in-law, Pat Beutner.

Visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept 27, 2017 in Dougherty Funeral Home and will continue from 10 until the 11 a.m. memorial service Thursday at Lakeside Presbyterian Church, 4430 McCulloch St.  Inurnment in Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family would prefer donations to the Second Harvest Food Bank-BackPack Program, 4503 Airpark Blvd, Duluth MN 55811 or Kids Closet of Duluth, 2431 West 3rd St, Duluth MN 55806.
