Elizabeth A. “Bette” Damberg, 78 of Maple Grove, MN died July 15, 2016 after a brief illness surrounded by her family. Bette grew up in Duluth and lived for many years in the Woodland neighborhood. She graduated from Cathedral High School. She was a long time employee of the Diocese of Duluth and retired in 2011 after over 30 years of service.
Bette was a loving mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. She was an avid cook, baker, gardener, and Christmas cookie maker extraordinaire. She will be remembered by many for her holiday treats, love of food and the many wonderful dinners she made for her family. Bette also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting afghans and blankets for her children and grandchildren.
She was a long time member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Woodland and volunteered for many activities at the church.
Bette was proceeded in death by her parents, 3 siblings and her beloved son, Kyle William.
She is survived by her daughters Kim (Greg) Heiser of Maple Grove, MN; Lynette Hutchinson of Minnetonka, MN; daughter-in-law Karen Damberg-Grundstrom (Ole) of Duluth, MN niece Shaleen (Paul) Kivlin of Houlton, WI, and grandchildren Luke and Zach Heiser; Matthew and Michael Damberg; Nik and Ava Hutchinson and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday July 21, 2016 from 10AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. John’s Catholic Church. 4230 St, John’s Ave., Duluth, MN 55803. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home. 600 E. 2nd Street, Duluth, MN 55805. 218-727-3555.
