Elizabeth Ann Kilroy

Elizabeth “Betty” A. Kilroy, age 91, of Duluth, MN passed away peacefully on May 11, 2023.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandma, aunt, and friend.  Her family was her life.

Betty was born on June 3, 1931, to Peter and Lena (Calvi) Gallinetti, in Ironwood, Michigan.  She attended St. Ambrose School.  After graduation, she moved to Duluth, MN, where she enrolled in the nursing program at The College of St. Scholastica.  She worked as a R.N. at St. Mary’s Hospital for 14 years where she advanced to a Head Nurse role.

Betty married Martin J. Kilroy Jr. on July 25, 1964, together they raised three children. 

She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and was involved in many volunteer positions and community organizations.

She was preceded in death by her husband Martin J. Kilroy, parents Peter and Lena Gallinetti and brother David Gallinetti.

She is survived by daughters Mary Beth Henderson of Oak Grove, MN and Patti Kilroy of Plymouth, MN.  One son Peter (Michelle) Kilroy of Duluth, MN.  Four grandsons, Marty and Jack Henderson and Carter and Caleb Kilroy.  Many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 1:00 PM, with a visitation starting at 12:00 PM at the Benedictine Chapel, 935 Kenwood Ave. Duluth, MN.  Memorial donations can be made to the Benedictine Living Community, Duluth MN. Where she spent her last 4 years and loved every day and everyone. Thank you to all the staff and her friends at Westwood.
