Elizabeth A. “Lisa” Maki, 62, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 18, 2020 surrounded by her family at Essentia Health/St. Mary’s Hospital. She was born in Duluth on October 26, 1957 to Ray and Marian Johnston. Lisa graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1976. She was employed as a nursing assistant for 24 years. Lisa married Thomas Maki on April 29, 1989 in Duluth. She loved her grandchildren and played a big role in their lives. Lisa loved animals, gardening, and being there for anyone in need. She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh.
She was preceded in death by her father Ray.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Maki, son Michael “Mickey” (Amanda) Lundberg, grandchildren Skylar, Kylee, and Mason, mother Marian Stenersen, sister Shelia (Jeff) Eurich, brothers Gary Johnston, Michael (Rita) Johnston, Patrick (Sharon) Johnston, and Ray Johnston, step-brother Erik (Brandon) Stenersen, several nieces and nephews, and a special aunt Sandra Nervick.
Visitation will be held on Friday January 24, 2020 from 1PM until the 2PM Memorial Service in Kenwood Lutheran Church. 324 W. Cleveland St., Duluth, MN 55811. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home. 600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805. 218-727-3555.
