Elsie Johnson

Elsie Jeanette Sytcket Peterson Johnson, 95, of Duluth, passed away on January 10, 2017 at Edgewood Vista in Hermantown. She was born on September 3, 1921 and spent her early years living in Brookston, MN. Elsie was employed by Goldfine’s by the Bridge and later with Arrowhead Equipment.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents August and Amanda Sytcket, first husband Delbert Peterson, husband John “Bill” Wm. Johnson, sons Daryl and Dennis Peterson, step-son Thomas Johnson, two sisters and a brother.
Elsie is survived by her step-children John “Bill” Wm. (Cynthia) Johnson and Margaret (Dale) Rahja, Daughter-in-law Barbara Peterson, granddaughters Julie (Wim) van den Berg and Jill (Marshall) Toms, 5 step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday May 24, 2017 at 11AM in the Dougherty Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. 600 E. 2nd Street, Duluth, MN 55805. 218-727-3555. Burial in Parkhill Cemetery.
