Ezra John Unzen of Hermantown went to be with Jesus Nov. 4, 2016, while resting peacefully at home.
Ezra was born in Minneapolis to Rob and Brandy Unzen Aug. 13, 2014. He was born with a congenital heart defect and had a successful open-heart surgery at just 5-days-old. Ezra had a cardiac arrest at 4-months-old following a medical procedure. The cardiac arrest caused a severe anoxic brain injury, and Ezra wasn't expected to live. He was so strong that he managed to live almost two more years. Ezra taught everyone around him so much in his short time in this world and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by great-grandparents Jenny and Joe Rosc, Oris Hanson, Shirley Elfving and Clifford Newton.
Ezra is survived by his parents, Rob and Brandy; brother and sister, Leo and Aurora; grandparents John and Joanne and Duane and Lynn Hanson; cousin Kenlie, aunts and uncles, Chuck, Maggie, Michael and Kortnie; and great-grandparents Bob and Adele and Adeline Hanson.
The family of Ezra wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all medical personnel, family and friends who supported Ezra and the rest of his family.
