Florence Anderson

Florence Alycia Anderson age 96, of Duluth passed away October 4, 2015 in Duluth, Minnesota.
Florence was born December 20. 1918 in Duluth to Frank and Stella Walkowiak. Florence attended Duluth Central High School. She married Floyd Anderson in 1941. She worked for the Duluth School District for 17 years and was a volunteer at St. Mary's Hospital for many years following her retirement.
She was the President of the American Legion Auxiliary in Duluth for 6 years. Florence spend much of her spare time gardening, sewing and knitting. She played the accordion and organ and loved to dance to polka music.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband Floyd, brothers Frank and Ray, her son Ronald and her daughter-in-law Carol.

She is survived by son Jim Anderson, Grandchildren; Damon (Brenda) Anderson, Pamela (Greg) Knight; daughter in law, Kathy Anderson; granddaughter Darcey (Corey) Danelski. Great-grandchildren; Megan, Madison, Mallory and Colten Daneski. Niece Dolly Walker, nephews, Jerry Walker, Jimmy Anderson.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Viewcrest Health Center for the loving care and dedicated service to Florence.
Visitation will begin Saturday at 9:30am with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at St. Joseph's Church, 151 W Linden St. in Duluth Heights. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, (218) 727-3555.
