Floy Beatty

Floy Jeanne Beatty, 91, of Duluth, Passed away June 7, 2017, with her loving family by her side.
She was born October 4, 1925, in Deer River, MN. She graduated from Superior Central High School in 1943 and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in education from Superior Teachers College in 1947. She taught for two years in the Superior School District. Then began teaching at Monroe, Lincoln Elementary and Lakeside Schools, she retired in 1986.
She married Bernard Beatty, September 2, 1950, they were married 67 years. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Sorority, Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, and Duluth Women’s Club (where she was a dedicated bridge player).
She is survived by her husband, Bernard; daughter, Barbara (Bud) Didrikson; son, Bruce (Jeanette Vogel); and other family and friends.
She was truly loved and will be so greatly missed.
The family would like to thank Dr. Steven Long and Shawn for their kindness and care, as well as the Benedictine Rehabilitation Center for their gentleness and compassion.
In Lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Benedictine Health Center, Duluth Women’s Club, or donor’s choice.
Funeral Service will be 11AM, Thursday, June 15, 2017, with visitation one-hour prior in the Lutheran Church-Good Shepherd, 1325 N 45th Ave E, Duluth, MN 55804.
