Flrorence Bussa

Florence Mary Bussa, age 96, of Duluth, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at her home with her loving children by her side. Florence was born on August 2, 1915 to Anthony and Antoinette (Simney) Walczak in Duluth. Florence married Peter S. Bussa on October 6, 1937. Florence was a past member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, a 40 year member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Alter Society, and since 1990 a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and its Viva Club, member of the Daughters of Isabella, and member of St. Josephs Catholic Church Plus 55 club. Florence was an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing, playing cards and dancing. She loved and cherished her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her many friends. She was a homemaker, great baker and cook, and loved to entertain. Florence was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband; brother Leo Walczak; and sisters Theresa Will, Irene DeBrule, and Bernice Kozlowski. Florence is survived by her children: Lawrence (Rita) Bussa, Mary Jane (Richard) Bates, both of Duluth, and William (Barbara) Bussa of Groveport, Ohio; grandchildren: Peter (Karen) Bussa, Kevin (Nina) Bussa and Todd Bussa, John (Heidi) Keller, Tom (Jodi) Keller, William (Kerri) Keller, Amy (John) Archer, Rhonda (Michael) Agristi, Dawn (William) Woods and Michael (Wendy) Bussa, Steven (Pam) Bates, Gerald (Elizabeth) Bates, Theresa Bates, Michael (Christine) Bates and David (Christine) Bates; and many great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Our family would like to thank St. Lukes Hospice for their loving care and support. Visitation: 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Wednesday with rosary prayers at 6:30pm, at Dougherty Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Benedicts Catholic Church. Burial will be at Polish Catholic Cemetery.
