Francine E Gurovitsch

Francine Gurovitsch, 81, died peacefully on October 24, 2022 with her sister-in-law, Sharyl, by her side.  Francine is survived by sister-in-law Sharyl Gurovitsch, niece Marya (Chris) Barsanti, nephew Sam (Charity) Gurovitsch, great-nephew Ben, great-nieces Josie and Millie, and special friend Jody Boyer. She was predeceased by her beloved parents Robert and Dorothy, brothers Samuel and Benjamin, niece Rachel, and great-nieces Annabel and Savannah.

Francine was a graduate of Duluth East High School who attended professional school before moving to San Francisco, which became one of her favorite places.  After returning home to Duluth, Francine worked at Oreck’s clothing store until she became her parents’ lifelong caregiver.  Francine was generous and beloved by her close family – she treated her nieces and nephews as though they were her own children and considered Sharyl her best friend and the sister she never had.  Some of her favorite memories were of traveling to Israel with her parents and taking a dream trip to Disney World with her family.  She was the family Trivial Pursuit champion, a great lover of animals (stuffed, not live!), a soap opera superfan, and QVC’s best customer.  A genuine fancy lady, Francine had her hair and nails done weekly and never went out without a full face of makeup and rings on almost every finger.  Francine’s daily calls and feisty spirit will be missed by her family.  She was truly one of a kind!

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the Temple Israel Youth Fund. A private memorial service will be held.
