Frank Hong Huie

Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 17, 2025 at the age of 63. Frank was born in St. Paul on July 14, 1961 to Fook and Beverly Huie. He was an avid sports fan, (sometimes) enjoying all of Minnesota’s sports teams. His love of sports went beyond watching professional teams as he enjoyed playing golf, was a physical education teacher and coached numerous sporting events including Denfeld Football, Girls Basketball, track, and little league baseball. He loved bringing people into sports and sharing his passion. Often going above and beyond and acting as a father to the fatherless. He will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by his parents. Survived by his wife of 29 years, Lynell; son, Cale; siblings, Evelyn (Jon) Hendry and Randy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, January 24, 2025 at the Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. Second Street, Duluth with a Visitation beginning at 1:00pm.
