Georgina Ann Monroe-Beaupre, 81, of Duluth passed away May 7, 2018 at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center. Georgina was born in Eveleth on August 31, 1936 to Joseph and Angeline Greben.
Georgina graduated from Eveleth High School and attended the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth for nursing. In the early ‘70s she attended Duluth Business University (DBU) and worked for the state of Minnesota and the Highway Department and later for the DNR from which she retired in the early 2000s.
Georgina was an avid gardener and every spring and summer would turn her yard into one of Duluth’s most colorful with many varieties of flowers she would grow. Georgina also loved to travel and went on trips to Rome and other European countries. A faithful Catholic, she served as a lecturer at St. John’s Parish in Duluth and visited Medjugorje, a town in Bosnia and Herzegovina where she saw the "Queen of Peace” statue.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Angeline Greben, husband Lawrence Beaupre and daughter Sharon (Cvek) Keene. Georgina is survived by sons John (Susan) Cvek of Brooklyn Park, Gerald Cvek of Virginia, and Dan Monroe of Two Harbors; son-in-law Kevin Keene of Concord, CA; sister Geri Greben Fuglie of Arcadia, CA; brother Dennis (Laurie) Greben of Gilbert; six grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and two nieces and two nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM Tuesday, June 12 at Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, 2801 E 4th St, Duluth. Visitation one hour prior at church.
