Gerald Wayne Hermanson

Gerald Wayne Hermanson, age 94 of Duluth, passed away in St. Lukes Hospital on Monday, July 22, 2024. Gerald was a life-long Duluthian. He worked for the City of Duluth for many years. Gerald enjoyed the time spent with the residents in his building. There he played countless games of bingo and was the head barbequer. He also enjoyed spending time at the penny slots in the casino – because he always won. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. 

Gerald preceded in death by his parents, Leo & Rose; wife, Dolores (Kubitski) Hermanson; 2nd wife, Faye (Fitzsenry) Hermanson; daughter, Merri Faith, brother, Vernon; sister, Beverly & Rose; grandchildren, Damon Campanella and Rebecca Brousseau. He is survived by children, Christine (Frank) Lacasio, Patricia Brousseau, James Hermanson, Sherri L’Abbe, Geraldine Hermanson, RaeAnn Hermanson, and Jean Schmidt; 24 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; best friends, Cliff & Brenda; and many friends in his building.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 1:30 pm with a visitation starting at 12:30 pm in Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E Second Street. Interment with military honors at the MN Veterans Cemetery.
