Gregory "Greg" G Kamp 73 of Duluth passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on October 2, 2024 after his 5 year battle with cancer. Born March 7, 1951 in Minneapolis MN to George & Beverly (Louiselle) Kamp. Graduated from Duluth Cathedral High school class of 1969. Following graduation, he immediately enlisted in the US Marine Corps. and was honorably discharged in 1971. Greg married his high school sweetheart, Claudia, on May 20, 1972. Together they raised 2 daughters, Becky & Sarah.
Greg was a man of deep faith, a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and loyal friend. Faith, family, friends and work were Greg's priorities in life. He truly loved his work. Greg built his professional legacy from the ground up, starting with East West Realty. His contributions to the business were notable, but his impact on the community went far beyond his career. Known for being a man of few words, he was nevertheless caring and generous, always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need. His kindness and integrity have left a lasting impression on the many lives he touched.
Greg is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Claudia (Leischke) Kamp, Daughters Becky (Kamp) Delerme & Sarah Kamp, Granddaughter Lexy Delerme, Siblings, Yvonne Solon, Gary Kamp (Terri), Dan Kamp (Lanying Hu), Jon Kamp (Lisa), Sherry Larson (Phil). Inlaws: Kristin Wagner (Ron), Lauren Young (Steve), Peter Leischke (Sarah) and extended family Mary Jackson, Emily Jackson (Brandon), Jackson & Georgia Downs, Michael Jackson (Madison Archer), and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Greg’s legacy of generosity and faith will continue to live on through the countless people whose lives he influenced. We will all miss how he showed his love for people through his amazing cooking. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct, 10th from 5:00-7:00 pm at Dougherty Funeral Home.. Please feel free to wear jeans if you wish, because that is what he would wear. Visitation Friday Oct. 11th from 10:00 to the 11:00 am Mass at Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary. Luncheon to follow at Greysolon Ballroom.
