Gregory John Kerwin, 71, of Iron River, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior, Wisconsin. He was born September 7, 1943 in Milwaukee, Wisc. to Norbert and Lorraine (Sellung) Kerwin. Greg graduated with honors from MSOE (Milwaukee School of Engineering). Greg married Patricia Ann Hemmick on September 28, 1968 in Waukesha, Wisc. A Vietnam Army veteran, he was employed as an Electrical Engineer at IBM in Rochester, Minn. for 33 years, retiring in 2001. In Rochester, Greg served on many civic, Christian and sporting activities. He and Patty were foster parents through Lutheran Social Services, served on the Marriage Encounter Board and Teams of Our Lady. Greg and Patty moved to Iron River in 2004. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and St Michael's Knights of Columbus. Greg enjoyed his family and his many friends, as well as golfing, fishing, and carpentry. Greg was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father John Lepkowski; his sister-in-law Mary Lou Kerwin and his brother-in-law Tim Hemmick. Greg is survived by his wife Patty; three sons: Todd (Reane) of Conway, AR, Scott (Nora) of Minneapolis, Minn, and Jon Kerwin of Rochester, Minn; four granddaughters; one grandson; two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; his brothers: Lance, Barry (Joanie), and Tom (Sue) Kerwin; and his sister Geri (Roger) Dunbar; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass and celebration of Greg's life will be held in the spring of 2015 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Memorials to St. Michael Catholic Church, P.O.
