Helen C. Davis, a 90-year Duluth resident, passed away in Ridgecrest, California at age 99. She lived in her own home until age 97. She was a 1937 Duluth Central High School graduate, graduate of the Duluth Business School, and long-time member of Adas Israel Congregation. Always quick to express her opinions on the news of the day, she also enjoyed learning, traveling, cooking, baking, sewing, gardening and volunteering with Northwood Children’s Services sewing, mending, and tailoring clothing.
She will be remembered as a strong, compassionate, courageous and loving mother and grandmother, providing her dedicated support as a caregiver to her family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband Walter G. Davis, son Jay A. Davis, parents Celia and Samuel Cohen, sister Ruth Herstein, and brothers Edward, Robert, and Harold.
She is survived by daughter, Peggy and her husband Jay Chun, sons Stephen and Scott Davis, grandchildren Olivia, Galya, Nadav, Noa, daughter-in-law Michal and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held in Duluth, Minnesota at Adas Israel Cemetery.
