Helen Meyer

Helen Mae Meyer, 86, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 29, 2021, in Westwood Terrace at the Benedictine Living Community.

Helen was born on May 19, 1935, in St. Michael, MN to Joseph and Mary Gutzwiller.

Helen grew up in St. Michael, and she graduated from Buffalo High School in 1953.

She married Ray Meyer on February 27, 1960, and they built a beautiful life together. Helen’s family and faith were incredibly important to her. Helen enjoyed flowers, holding hands, the beauty of different colors, card games, desserts, and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ray; her parents; brothers, Lester, Earl, Joseph, and Jim Gutzwiller; and sister, Irene Eicher.

Helen is survived by son, Ollie (Mary) Meyer; granddaughter, Jenna; sister, Imelda Eicher, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

SERVICE: A visitation will take place on Sunday, September 19 at 1:00pm, followed by a service at 2:00pm at Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd Street, Duluth, MN 55805.
