Howard Pete

Howard Edward Pete, Jr.,82, of Duluth, died Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul after a short illness.  He was born in Knife Falls Township, MN on August 9, 1934 to Howard and Mary (Boshey) Pete, Sr.  Following his graduation from Tower Soudan High School, Howard served in the U. S. Air Force.  After his service tour, he worked in construction in Virginia, MN.  He relocated to Duluth, worked for Jeno’s until they closed, at which time he retired.  He enjoyed watching sports, the Vikings and Twins, cooking, and going to different casino’s.  Howard was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and his former wife Lila Geshick on Feb. 22, 2000.

Howard is survived by his son Stephen of Duluth, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation:  Monday, January 9, 2017 from 12 noon until the 1 pm funeral service at Dougherty Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Vermilion Lake Cemetery, Tower, at 1 PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2017.  If desired, memorials may be directed to Animal Allies Humane Society, 4006 Airport Rd, Duluth, MN 55811.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E.
