Inez Rindal

Inez E. Rindal, 96, of Duluth, died with her family by her side on Saturday Nov 2, 2019 at Essentia in Duluth.

She was born in Minneapolis, MN to Emil and Anna Lydia Eliason (Winquist) on Feb 19, 1923 and was the eldest of 7 children.

During World War II, Inez was very proud to work in the shipyards as a welder and was recognized for her excellence. She also owned a gift shop in downtown Duluth and later worked at Western Electric and Duluth Avionics. She finished her working years as a school nurse for Duluth ISD 709. She loved this because of the kids and wonderful people she worked with.

Inez was talented in many areas but especially loved cooking and entertaining, gardening, crafts and sewing. She made many beautiful skating dresses for her granddaughter.

Inez married Peter A. Rindal on June 23, 1946 and made their home in Duluth. During their 65 years of marriage, they welcomed nieces and nephews into their home as well as parents and grandparents. They had one daughter Carmen Hoff.

She was preceded in death by her husband Peter, her parents and 5 siblings: Ethel Pensak, Pearl Cole, Richard Jacobson, Gladys Heinitz and Francis Monroe. Inez is survived by her daughter Carmen Hoff of Duluth, granddaughter Caillin (Matt) Krivinchuk of Superior, great-grandsons Peter and Matthew Smith, their father Donald Smith, and youngest brother Floyd (Shigeko) Winquist, sister-in-law Dianne Jacobson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

VISITATION: Thursday, November 7th from 5 to 7pm at Dougherty Funeral Home.  Visitation continues Friday, November 8th from 12 noon until the 1 pm memorial service at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be at Park Hill Cemetery.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. 2nd Street, Duluth, 218-727-3555.
