Irene Hanson

Irene Mae Hanson, 94, of Duluth, died Wednesday, October 16, 2014 at Diamond Willow in Proctor with her family by her side. Irene was born January 14, 1920 in New Richland, MN to Frank and Edith Krueger. She graduated from New Richland High School and moved to Duluth when she married Hewitt Hanson. Irene was the former manager of the Target Store Restaurant in Duluth. She is a member of First Lutheran Church; its Elizabeth Circle and Teamsters Local 346 Retirees. Irene was an avid cook and baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Edith; husband, Hewitt; three brothers and three sisters.
Irene is survived by her daughters, Sandy (Warren) Kingsbury of Chandler, AZ, Barbara (Michael) Jackson of Cotton, MN; grandchildren, Tim (Tracy) Jackson, Lori (Tom) Klingler, Cindy (Ryan) Swenson, Debbie Schoeller; great grandchildren, Taylor, Trevor, Hunter, Austin, Konnor and Kaylee; sister in law, Laviere (Don) Johnson and many special friends.
The family would like to thank "The Angel's" at Diamond Willow in Proctor for their loving care of Irene.
Visitation will begin at 10:00am with a gathering of family and friends at 11:00am Monday at First Lutheran Church, 1100 E Superior St. Duluth, MN. Interment at Park Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, (218) 727-3555.
