Irene Tawyea

Irene Ruth Tawyea, age 85, of Duluth, died Friday, April 7, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born January 20, 1932 in Toivola-Meadowlands, MN to Gust and Ina (Stoore) Maki. Irene married Eugene R. Tawyea. In her younger years she was involved with the PTA when her daughters were in school. She worked as an LPN at St. Mary’s Hospital, as well as Miller-Dwan Hospital. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eugene on May 23, 1987; and her sister and brother-in-law Florence and Richard Skripsky. Irene is survived by her daughters Diane (Tom Jensen) Lawin of Siren, WI. and Roberta “Bobbie” (Scott) Youngdahl of Duluth; and her grandchildren Aaron (Lindsey) Lawin and Jay (Rose) Peterson.
Visitation: 11:00 Thursday, April 13, 2017 until the 12 noon funeral service at Trinity Lutheran Church. Entombment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, Hermantown.
