Jack Charles Olson, age 83, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, July 7th, 2019 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Silver Bay, MN. Originally from West Duluth, he worked for the News Tribune, spent time in the Army, moved to Portland, Oregon to work for McGraw Hill Industries, returned to Duluth to start Olson’s Home Comfort Center and settled back into his niche in advertising with his company World Directory Services, Inc.
His life was marked by an appreciation for the outdoors, adventurous spirit and dedication to learning. His passing was preceded by his eldest son Shane on July 10, 2018 and survived by daughter Tonya Olson of Saint Petersburg, FL and Dusty Olson of various locations. Celebration of life gathering will be held at the Crooked Pint, Duluth, MN, Thursday, July 11, 2:00-4:00.
