Jacob Franklin Collins, retired missionary and teacher, died at age 92 in Clarksburg, West Virginia on September 10th, 2017. Jacob was born on January 17th, 1925 to Cordelia and Henry Collins. Jacob was married to Bertha Kewley until her death in 1992 at Everettville, West Virginia. He was married to Mary Riggs until her death in 2013. Jacob was ordained minister in the Open Bible Standard Churches over 50 years. His formal education included earning Divinity degree at Open Bible Institute, BA at Cascade College, Masters in Education at Eastern Montana College and completed other correspondence programs. In addition to Jacob's humor and lively spirit was his constant enjoyment of participating in further education with extension classes or correspondence programs. To him good friends and books were a sign of wealth.
He was preceded in death by brothers William, Marvin and David.
He is survived by sisters Eleanor, Jewell, Elma and brother Larry. Jacob is survived by two sons Jacob Jr with wife Linda and Lowell with wife Carolyn.
Visitation will be held on Friday September 22nd from 10AM until the 11AM Funeral Service in the Duluth Tabernacle on 1515 W. Superior Street, Duluth, Minnesota. The service will be officiated by Pastors Rolf Fure and longtime friend Virgil Rasmussen. A simple reception will be held at the church before burial at Forest Hills cemetery.
