James Cameron

James Hartley Cameron, age 72, Hermantown, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Essentia Health St. Mary?s. He was born in Duluth May 21, 1939 to John Alexander and Angeline Mary (Scandin) Cameron. Jim was a Navy veteran serving as an Italian language interrupter. He was a musician, playing with many bands and other musicians in the Duluth-Superior and surrounding area. A serious minded musician, he began playing guitar at age 12, and he had high hopes of becoming a country western songwriter and singer. Jim was written up as an upcoming artist in -Billboards?. He had many followers and had played with -Country Gentlemen? and -Mystery?. He performed at the -Gopher? for many years. Jim was a thoughtful, caring gentleman who made many friends and acquaintances through the entertainment profession. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas; and his sister, Mary Catherine Cameron. He is survived by his brother John R. (Vicki) Cameron of Henderson, NV; his sisters, Patricia A. Cameron of White Bear Lake, MN. and Laurie (Tony) DeNardo of Marinette, WI.; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 pm Monday, April 16, 2012 at Edgewood Vista Assisted Living, 4195 Westberg Rd., in the fireside room of -The Manor?. .Military honors will be accorded by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, 727-3555.
