James "Jim" Lee Woodard

James “Jim” Lee Woodard, 81, passed away suddenly on Thursday September 26, 2024, with his family at his side. Jim was born on November 7, 1942, in Escanaba, MI to Cedric and Teresa Woodard. They moved to Duluth when Jim was in grade school. He met the love of his life Corrine Arthur when he was in high school, they were married in October of 1964 and had one son Jim Jr. Jim sailed on the great lakes for many years with over 25 years with the Columbia Fleet, retiring as a 1st Mate. Jim and Corrine shared their retirement years between Duluth and El Frida, AZ. He enjoyed reading, meeting people and socializing. There was never a dull moment when friends and family got together with Jim. He was the life of the party, and people loved to hear his stories.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Corrine, and his brother Mike.

Jim is survived by his son Jim Jr., grandsons Lee and Trever, brother Rick (Karen), brother-in-law Dennis Arthur, sisters-in-law Sally Brouillette and Emily Arthur, many nieces and nephews, and his special dog Josie.
