James Peter Luczak, 84, longtime Hermantown resident died peacefully on Sunday January 31, 2016 in Keystone Bluffs Assisted Living. He was born in Duluth on November 22, 1931 to Peter and Josephine Luczak. He graduated from Hermantown High School. Jim was a dairy farmer for Land of Lakes for many years. He devoted his life's work to the care and nurture of the land and the animals on his farm. He was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church. He volunteered at the 2nd Harvest Food Bank and was a recipient of the volunteer of the year award. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the health care teams of Gentiva, Keystone Bluffs, Ecumen at Lakeshore, the Heart and Vascular Center SMDC, and the Essentia Hospice Team for their dedicated devotion to quality care.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents. Jim is survived by siblings Joyce (Robert) Kase and Thomas (Dorothy) Luczak, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday February 8, 2016 from 10AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Raphael's Catholic Church. 5779 Seville Road, Duluth, MN 55811.
