James Phillip “Jim” Wisocki, 65, of Duluth, passed away peacefully at home with his family on Sunday July 28, 2019, after a courageous battle with gastric cancer. He was born in Duluth on February 15, 1954 to Joseph and Cecelia Wisocki. He graduated from Duluth Cathedral High School. Jim was a member of Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary. He served in the Marine Corps from 1973-1976 as Military Police. And was very proud to serve his country. Jim married the love of his life Therese, on June 30, 1985, whom he affectionately called “Lovey”. He worked for Miner’s Super One as a truck driver. Jim was a big gun enthusiast who also enjoyed boating, motorcycling, time spent with his family and friends, and he will be remembered as a great storyteller. He had an inventive mind and was always trying to create or improve everything he saw. Jim had a passion for helping and serving others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Paul and Mark Wisocki.
He is survived by his wife Therese, children Emily (Tony) Wiseman, and Nicholas (Samantha) Wisocki, siblings Joseph (Bernie) Wisocki, Steven Wisocki, Anthony (Linda) Wisocki, Peter Wisocki, Catherine Zeis, Arthur Wisocki, and Mary (Roger) Waller, his fur baby Teddie, and grand fur babies Wednesday, and Lola, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 31, 2019 in Dougherty Funeral Home from 5PM to 7PM with a 6:30PM Rosary Recitation. Visitation will continue Thursday August 1, 2019 from 10AM until the 11AM with a Mass of Christian Burial in Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary. 2801 E. 4th St. Duluth, MN 55812.
