Jan Stelman

Jan Marie Stelman of Saginaw, MN.
Jan went home to the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, after an 8 year battle with cancer.
Jan was born September 24, 1959 to John (El) and Ruby Sarazen.
She graduated from Duluth East High School in 1977 and attended the College of St Scholastica.
She married the love of her life Jim on August 11th 1979.
Together they adopted 8 children who were the loves of their lives. They also took in many foster children.
Jan was an Advocate for Children with Disabilities and enjoyed gardening, animals, reading, playing Scrabble and garage sales. She home schooled her children for many years.
She also enjoyed visiting with her many friends. Aire Lake holds many special memories.
She is preceded in death by her father John, son Daryl and her in-laws Ed and Eileene Stelman and brother & sister in law Tom & Cathy Stelman.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of 36 years Jim, her children Dustin (Katy), Rob, Tina, Morgan, Ryan, Serenity and Adam. Her mother Ruby, brother Kevin and nieces Lessley Pryor, Nicole (Nic) Veech, Jennifer,
Rebecca & Abi Stelman and nephew Joe (Nikki) Leone. Brothers in law Bill, Frank (Amy) Stelman & sisters in law Cat (Joe Bemick) Stelman, Elizabeth & Tina (Steve) Farrell
And the BEST FRIENDS anyone could hope for!
Her faith in the Lord was her top priority and now she is dancing with Jesus on the streets of Gold.
The family would like to thank the fabulous staff at Solvay House, for the wonderful caring and compassionate care given to Jan.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7pm in the Dougherty Funeral Home. Services will be 11:30am Thursday at Hermantown Community Church, 4880 Maple Grove Rd. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd St. (218) 727-3555.
