Janice Rae Blazier, 76, of Duluth, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 26th, 2024.
Born January 28th, 1948, to Jack and Marlyss (Bergren) Phillips in Duluth, MN, Janice graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1966 and married Glenn Blazier shortly after graduation. Despite the untimely passing of her beloved husband Glenn at the age of 46, Janice remained resilient and dedicated to her family.
Janice was a Brownie Leader and a member of Hope United Methodist Church. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as knitting afghans and dishcloths, baking, and playing cards. Her home was a testament to her tidy nature, where everything had its place. Additionally, Janice cherished a lifelong friendship with a childhood pen pal from Australia, whom she met through Girl Scouts.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marlyss, and her dear husband, Glenn.
She is survived by her father, Jack, and brother, Jim (Sandy) Phillips, and a niece and nephew. Janice leaves behind her six children: Suzie (Noni) Wells, MaryLee (Troy) Johnson, Lynn (Bert) Ewer, Dale (Ruth) Blazier, Sarah (Nick) Adam, and Daryl Blazier, all of whom she loved dearly. She was also a proud grandmother to many grandchildren.
Janice's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be deeply missed. Her legacy of love and care will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
A special thank you is extended to the Essentia Hospice staff for their compassionate care in her final days.
To respect Janice’s wishes, there will not be a formal service. A private burial will be held at Park Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to a local charity in Janice’s name.
