Janice Faith Dulinski

Janice F. (Carlson) Dulinski, 73, of Fredenberg, passed away on Friday September 29, 2023, in her home from complications associated with Alzheimer’s.  She was born in Duluth on Jan. 17, 1950, to Albert E. and Genevieve Carlson.  Jan graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1968.  She married Gerald Dulinski in Duluth on August 14, 1971.  Jan started working at MN Power in 1971 and retired as a Department Coordinator in 2011.  She enjoyed camping, boating, and watching stock car races.  She got her infamous nickname “Crash Carlson” after crashing in a powder puff race.  Jan was proud of being a member of Duluth’s first women’s soccer team.  She was a loving wife and companion.  Her proudest achievement was being a devoted mom and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother “Buddy” Albert Carlson Jr., and a very close aunt Gloria Martin.

She is survived by her husband Gerald “Jerry”, children Dean (Jaime Nygaard) Dulinski, and Lisa (Brian) McDonald, grandchildren Erica, Ty, Luke, Natalia, Miles, Presley, and Mackey, sisters Nancy Anderson, and Audrey Blankenship, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday Oct. 5, 2023, from 5PM to 7PM with 6:30PM Wake Prayers at St. John’s Catholic Church.  Visitation continues Friday Oct. 6, 2023 from 10AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. John’s Catholic Church.  4230 St. John’s Ave. Duluth, MN 55803.  The burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home.  600 E. 2^nd St. Duluth, MN 55805.  218-727-3555.  In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association, 12701 Whitewater Drive, Suite 290, Minnetonka, MN 55343.
