Janice Hauer Heaslip, 72, of Duluth, died, Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in St. Lukes Hospital with family by her side. She was born on Feb. 26, 1940 in Monticello, Minn., to Joseph and Jennie (Swingley) Larson. Janice graduated from Monticello High School as the Valedictorian and went on to receive a degree in nursing from St. Benedicts College. She was employed at St. Lukes Hospital and retired in 2002. Janice was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. In her younger years she was an avid skier. She loved to play golf and enjoyed traveling with her husband, Pat Heaslip. They visited Hawaii annually for many years and visited family in Ireland on several occasions. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Lenard Larson. Survivors include her spouse, Patrick Heaslip of Duluth; her daughter, LeeAnn MacDougall (James Moore) of Minneapolis; her step-children, Mark (Nancy) Heaslip of Washington, D.C.; Kevin (Kathy) Heaslip of Duluth; Laura (Mark Nelson) Heaslip of Shoreview, Minn.; Julie (Tom) Kirkham of Apple Valley, Minn.; Brian (Zoe) Heaslip of Duluth; Kerry Heaslip of Duluth; Craig Heaslip of St. Louis, MO; her brother, Dr. Wayne (Helene) Larson of Olympia, Wash.; 13 step-grandchildren; her nieces, Melanie (Ralph) Pribyl of Maple Lake, Minn.; Becay (Ray) Stumpe of Monticello, Minn.; her nephews, Tom (Joni) Larson of Savage, Minn.; Lyndon (Teresa) Larson of Monticello, Minn., and numerous step-nieces and nephews. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012 in Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1325 North 45th Ave. East, Duluth. A gathering of friends and family will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Monticello, Minn., at a later date.
