Jayne Glaspie

Jayne Carole Glaspie, 63, of Duluth went home to be with Our Heavenly Father, and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 4, 2012. Jayne was born November 19, 1948 in Hampton Court, Surrey, England. The only child of Charles and Edith (Mickey) Snelling, Jayne moved to Duluth in 1981. On a trip home to the UK in 1989, Jayne and her son Marlon observed a group of people "Marching for Jesus" in the streets of Cheddar, England. The following year she organized the first March For Jesus in the United States here in Duluth. Jayne attended Great Lakes Gospel Church in Lakeside. She loved to worship, loved to serve, and loved to bake. Her "Lady Jayne's Teas" were known throughout Duluth. Jayne is survived by sons Marlon and Paul (Simon), aunt Audrey Palfrey and cousins Angela, Debra and Margaret.
CELEBRATION SERVICE: 2:00 PM Friday, October 19, 2012 at Duluth Gospel Tabernacle. If available, please bring flags and banners to celebrate Jayne's homegoing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent directly to the Union Gospel Mission. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 218-727-3555.
