Jean Crassweller 89
Jean was born on July 25, 1924 in Duluth, MN to Mark and Edith Crassweller. She died on July 22, 2014, just 3 days short of her 90th birthday.
Jean graduated from Duluth Central HS in 1943. She also graduated from Duluth State Teacher's College with an Elementary Education degree in 1948.
She taught at Chimayo, New Mexico at a Presbyterian Mission School. Jean completed her teaching career at Hermantown, in Special Education, 4th to 6th grade.
Jean was a lifelong member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church. Jean served as an ordained Deacon and Elder. Her activity in the church was never ending. She taught Junior High Sunday School as well as Vacation Bible School. She also was a member of the choir for several years.
The LPC Women appreciated all that Jean did serving on the Rachel Circle. Her mission work also included LPC Mission in Alaska. Jean continued mission work by being a member of the Mission Committee.
In her private time, Jean enjoyed being at her cabin on lsland Lake. She shared the beautiful area with others by hosting various groups such as her Circle and the Arrowhead Hiking Club in which she belonged. Jean was an avid member of AARP.
Let's not forget her love of dogs, including Sassy her golden retriever. Jean got this love from her parents and brother.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Richard.
