Jean Ferguson

Jean Ann Mellin Ferguson, 86, of Duluth, died Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Lester Park Diamond Willow Assisted Living. Jean was born July 21, 1928, in Minneapolis, to Hollis B. and Irene (Bhanke) Rayn. A stay at home mother, Jean contributed to her community through volunteer work for several organizations. Jean enjoyed golfing, walking, maintaining her own yard, family gatherings with her boys and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands John Arthur Mellin and Byron Ferguson; and her son Robert Bruce Mellin. Jean is survived by her sons: Thomas S. Mellin, John (Ann) Mellin and Peter Mellin, all of Duluth; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her twin sister Mary (John "Red") Seitz and their families, of Duluth. The Mellin family would like to thank the staff at Diamond Willow for their care of their mother and grandmother, as well as St. Luke's Hospice.
