On March 13, 1993, Jean married Gilbert W. Harries whom she had first met in the orchestra at East Junior High School, and they enjoyed many happy years together in Duluth and on trips to Japan, Athens, the Isle of Rhodes and France.  Jean was a member of Twelve Holy Apostles Orthodox Church where she became the Sunday School Director, sang in the choir and made many new friends.
