Jerome Edward “Jerry” Miller, 62, of Duluth, passed away peacefully surrounded by love ones, due to early onset Alzheimer’s, on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospice. He was born July 1, 1955 in Duluth to Gordon B and Grace (Deck) Miller. Jerry graduated from Duluth Cathedral High School in 1973. He married Diana Mahlberg on July 16, 1977. Jerry played electric bass in several local bands. He also played at several Sunday services at local Catholic churches. Jerry retired from Qwest Communications in 2009 after 30+ years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jerry is survived by his wife of nearly 41 years, Diana; his sons, Matthew (Colleen) of Forest Lake, Minn., and Luke of Duluth; his daughter Toni (Chad) Vernon of Carlton; his sister Diane (Patrick) Lowry of Mahtowa; eight grandchildren; his brothers/sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Jerry’s family extends a special thank you to St. Luke’s Hospice and Diamond Willow, Misty Ivy, for helping them through the end of Jerry’s Alzheimer journey. VISITATION: Monday, April 30, 2018 from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. John’s Catholic Church, 4230 St. John’s Ave. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
