Joan Curtis

August 11, 1927 — May 19, 2015

Joan (Lyngstad) Curtis 87, a lifelong resident of Hermantown, MN died at home May 19, 2015 with her family by her side.
Joan was born in Virginia, MN August 11,1927 to Viva and William Lyngstad. She graduated from Hermantown High School in 1945. After high school Joan worked at Kelley How Thomson until she married Fred in 1949. They met at the Cub Roller Rink in Pike Lake and were married
for 65 years. Joan and Fred lived in Hermantown where they raised their four children.
Besides her family Joan held her friends from childhood and the neighbors closest to her heart.
Joan had a natural curiosity about people and their lives. When coming home from vacation she would talk about the people she met more than the places she visited.
Joan loved to be with her family and friends especially when entertaining at the cabin. She had a real passion for reading and keeping up with current events.
We want to offer a special thanks to all the women in the "Sewing Club" for their over 50 years of friendship and sharing with our Mom.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers Bill and Jack.
She is survived by her husband Fred and her four children. Jack (Kris), Cindy (Scott) Braiedy, Shelly (Brian) Harrington, and Jim (Anita). Grandchildren Jason (Theresa) Curtis, Keely Curtis, Lauren
Braiedy, Ben Braiedy, Jessie Harrington, Noah Harrington, Sam Curtis, Henry Curtis and Max Curtis. Great Grandchild Mabel Curtis.
