Joan Scouton

Joan M. Scouton, 81, of Twig, passed away on Thursday February 16, 2017 in St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born in Duluth on September 11, 1935 to Ole and Geraldine Bolland. Joan was a member of the 13 Club, Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a life time member of VFW Post # 137. She had worked as a home health aide for many years. Joan married Frank Scouton on June 26, 1953 in Twig. She enjoyed time spent with family and trips to the casino and Wal-Mart.
She is preceded in death by her husband Frank, son Douglas Sr., grandson Douglas Jr., and a son-in-law Mike Salo.
She is survived by her children Frank Jr., Larry, Michael, Carla Salo, Debora (Roger) Malzac, 15 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday February 27, 2016 from 10AM until the 11AM Funeral Service in Dougherty Funeral Home. 600 E. 2nd Street, Duluth, MN 55805. 218-727-3555. Burial will be in Twig Cemetery.
