John Earl Moline, age 65, of Saginaw, died Friday, April 11, 2014 at Solvay Hospice House. He was born in Duluth on September 11, 1948 to James H. and Theresa L (Cobb) Moline. John served in the U. S. Navy from 1968-1972, and was a Vietnam veteran. He married Marcia A. Olson in Duluth on September 16, 1971. John worked for Lutheran Social Services from 1975 until May 1, 2012, serving as the Senior Director of Counseling, Youth and Family Resources. He was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, Duluth Harbortown Rotary, and Minnesota Social Services Association. John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James; and infant sister Patricia Ann. He is survived by his wife, Marcia; children: John Jr. (Mayko), Jim (Erin), Joe (Devon) and Jill; grandchildren: Erica, Kellen, Christian, Ryan, Adam, Damon and Amree; sisters: Cathy Philpot and Betty (Wayne) Malley; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: 5-8pm Tuesday, April 15th, with wake prayers at 5pm at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Visitation continues on Wednesday, April 16th. at 9:30am until the 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 5779 Seville Rd. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on Thursday. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, 727-3555.
